About the CCA

The art of stand up comedy is most often executed by standing up alone. Therefore the isolation of the road conflicts with a sense of community found in the fellowship of your local Church. The CCA is a community of Christian comedians and performers that have a serious interest in using this art to honor God.

The CCA evolved from several groups, friendships and late night discussions from comics across the nation who found themselves drawn to one another to discuss our craft, our mission and our need for accountability and fellowship. First Peter 4:10 says, “Each one should use whatever gift he or she has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. " Our first informal gathering can be traced back over six years ago to The Funny Farm, a small ranch in Tennessee owned by comedian Chonda Pierce. Over 40 comedians from LA to NY began what we now call, The Christian Comedy Association. From that true kinship and concern developed on the porch of a little cabin in the woods where we decided “we really could use some time serving one another” we now serve more than 300 comedians in over four countries.

Our purpose is three-fold:

To facilitate fellowship and networking between our fellow Christians working in the field of comedy.
To raise the awareness of Christian comedy.

To enhance the craft of Christian comedy by encouraging and training Christian Comedians.
