CCA MENTORING GROUP
The CCA Mentoring program is available to serve ‘up and coming’ comedians with a focus on comedians serious about advancing in their craft, working in the industry for at least one year with at least 15 – 30 minutes of solid material. We are here to mentor comics looking for constructive criticism, honest evaluation and the need for encouragement in your field. Here’s how it works:
The Critique
Send a 5 minute video tape or DVD to a CCA Mentor. They will critique your work and respond back to you, personally. (Due to scheduling, please allow 4 to 6 weeks.)
The Connection
We will partner you with a Veteran comic in your area, help you find a comedy tutor or better yet – we may hook you up with an actively touring comic. We want to help you get the exposure you need as an opening act. To do this, we will work to help you develop a tight 15 minutes of funny that will help you keep your best foot forward.
The Writing Group
We will connect you with a Writing Group. To join a Writing Group – you will need to offer one submission every week for at least a month. Afterwards the group will evaluate your work and contribution before continuing this effort.
The Standard
We will hold you to the same high standard as we do ourselves. We will do our best to guide you in love and accountability toward a maturing step toward a higher standard in your career. We will encourage you as a member of the CCA to use God-honoring material. If your act relies on cheap potty jokes, blue humor - get ready for some brutal honesty from your mentor staff!
The Encouragement
We will always be here to encourage you spiritually. It won’t do you any good being the funniest person on the planet if you’re not growing with God. We’ll do periodic check-ups in this most important area in your career as well.
